Revving up the promotional efforts as his latest picture's release date quickly approaches, Owen Wilson was front and center at the premiere of Walt Disney Pictures' "Cars 2" in Hollywood on Saturday evening (June 18).

Held at the El Capitan Theatre, the 42-year-old actor worked the red carpet alongside fellow attendees such as the lovely Nicole Scherzinger and her Formula 1 race car driver beau Lewis Hamilton.

Also joining in on the red carpet celebration were stars including singers Christina Milian and Sheryl Crow, as well as young actresses Hailee Steinfeld and Sarah Hyland.

Sure to be quite the family-friendly adventure, "Cars 2" finds "star race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater heading overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage."

The John Lasseter and Brad Lewis directed film also features the voices of Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer and John Turturro while set to race into theaters this Friday, June 24th.

Songwriter Mike Stock has claimed that pop music is making "a slow but unmistakable descent into pornography".

The songwriter, who was behind the launch of Kylie Minogue's pop career with his hits as part of Stock, Aitken and Waterman, has blamed stars such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Nicole Scherzinger for their overtly-sexual behaviour.

Stock believes that as pop artists they are among those to blame, who "have taken sexualised imagery, dance moves and lyrical content way beyong the limits of decency".

The Government-commissioned Bailey Report, which was published earlier this month, suggested that some music videos should be reserved for an older audience by playing after a certain time.

In his open letter to broadcasters and Ofcom, Stock wrote: "With the BBC iPlayer and the internet as your platform, you can watch last night's TV at this morning's breakfast. Young people all know how to use these features."

Nicole Scherzinger's performance on 'Britain's Got Talent' was singled out as an example of "overtly sexual content on a family show".

Stock said that using sex to sell music is an easy way out for record labels, who should be taking more responsibility. He explained: "As far as music is concerned, it has been a slow but unmistakable descent into pornography. Why? Because it's easy. Put some sexualised dancing and scantily-clad females in the video, and get it on the box. Job done."

Although Nicole Scherzinger was apparently moved from the co-host of the US version of The 'X Factor' to a judging position after Cheryl Cole was fired, her former manager, Jeff Haddad - who was let go only weeks before the joined the reality competition - is now claiming that the former Pussycat Dolls singer was Always expected to take the role she is in now, and Cheryl was only used to generate publicity!

"Simon Cowell always wanted her as a judge. There was never a question that she wouldn't get it. I had long discussions with Simon about her judging the US show and she was always a frontrunner for that job.

"Cheryl's name never came into it. Cheryl was just being used as a cog in the wheel to cause hype and publicize the show. Nicole was never supposed to be a host. I think Cheryl's accent never came into it. It was an excuse. Americans are used to all sorts of accents."
